Patrick Patrick Murphy, PA-C

Patrick moved to the Vail Valley in 2008 after earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Bucknell University. Growing up as a ski racer in the Northeast, he always dreamed of living in the mountains of Colorado. Before becoming a physician assistant, he gained valuable experience in healthcare, working in Vail as an EMT, care tech, and later as a healthcare administrator. He went on to complete PA school at the Red Rocks PA Program, graduating in the top three of his class, followed by a PA Surgical Fellowship at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.

Patrick began his clinical career as a Trauma & General Surgery PA at Vail Health, gaining additional experience in plastic surgery and wound care. He is now thrilled to serve as an Upper Extremity & Orthopedic Trauma PA alongside Dr. Dorf and the exceptional surgical team at Vail-Summit Orthopaedics & Neurosurgery.

Outside of work, Patrick spends most of his free time adventuring in the mountains with his wife, son, family, and friends. An avid alpine, backcountry, and Nordic skier, as well as a passionate mountain biker, he is dedicated to delivering the highest quality surgical care—helping both locals and visitors get back to the activities they love.
